2014 Community Transport Awards
You are invited to nominate your Community Transport Heroes!
Every year, Devon County Council honours the invaluable work undertaken by people in the Community Transport sector throughout Devon, in recognition of their outstanding service, commitment and contribution. Nominations are welcome for anyone working in Community Transport and are assessed by an independent panel.

Best Contribution to the Local Community – 1 group award
This award recognises a Community Transport Group (non-profit making) which has done the most to make a difference through its transport services to a local community. They may have solved a transport problem, enhanced services by responding to gaps in the local transport network, worked alongside local residents to develop a volunteer driver scheme, etc.
Community Transport Volunteer - 6 awards for individuals
This award recognises the excellent work undertaken by Community Transport scheme volunteers throughout Devon. There will be a particular emphasis on those individuals who have made significant contributions to their local community as a volunteer driver, co-ordinator, committee member, fundraiser, etc. There will also be a special award, made from among the 6 finalists, to the person whom the panel feel has made an outstanding contribution to Community Transport over the past 12 months.
*NB Priority will be given to those who have not won a volunteer award in previous years.
Employee of the Year – 1 award for an individual
This award is kindly sponsored by GM Coachwork Ltd
This will be awarded to the individual who has consistently worked over and above expectations in terms of providing a service to customers or supporting colleagues, and who has shown commitment to and made a measurable contribution to their organisation. Individuals eligible for this award must be in paid employment (either full or part time). This may cover drivers, escorts, co-ordinators, managers, administrators, etc.
Outstanding Lifetime Contribution – 1 award for an individual
This award is to recognise an individual who has made a substantial impact on one or more Community Transport organisation and to Community Transport in Devon as a whole. It is open to anyone who has worked, paid or unpaid, within the Community Transport sector.
Successful nominees and a guest of their choice will be invited, along with their proposer, to a civic reception in Exeter on Thursday 12th June, 2014.
